Vicky Cullinane

Vicky’s motivation behind founding Studio Red Wellness was to share genuine and effective wellness practices in a beautifully designed studio that offered the very best teachers.

Creating a world class wellness experience is at the heart of Studio Red. To do that, day in and day out, requires a wholehearted commitment to doing our very best work. For our clients it’s about delivering an experience that, from start to finish, whether that's in one of our wellness spaces or online, is as excellent as it possibly can be. While the exceptional quality of teaching is at the heart of Studio Red Wellness, the overall environment plays a crucial role in enhancing the experience.

Our goal at Studio Red Wellness is to do things as well as we know how to, whilst continuing to improve on that standard every day.

Founder

Niamh Ryan

Studio Director and Head Teacher Niamh Ryan joined the Studio Red family five years ago.

Having discovered yoga when she relocated to New Zealand from Ireland in 2013, an insatiable passion was ignited. Satisfying both her scientific background and passion for learning, Niamh has studied various disciplines and now weaves elements of yogic philosophy, Traditional Chinese Medicine and mindfulness into her teachings.

Explaining the theory behind the practice, but also creating space for people to experience the teachings in their own bodies, Niamh creates a safe environment for exploration and integration.

Studio Director / Wellness Teacher

Dr. Louise Cowpertwait

Dr. Louise Cowpertwait is a consultant clinical psychologist and neuropsychologist on a mission to support wellbeing at work and beyond.

Louise particularly enjoys working with leaders on the design and implementation of organisation-wide approaches. She is strongly values-driven in her mahi (work) and wants to see workplaces focus on quality wellbeing initiatives that are holistic, informed by evidence, and have a meaningful impact.

Louise has worked with major national and international companies in New Zealand and the United Kingdom, in executive leadership, clinical leadership, and applied clinical roles. She looks to yoga and meditation as foundational ways to support her own wellbeing. She also loves spending time with her dogs and the beautiful New Zealand ngahere (forest).

Clinical Neuropsychologist

Nathan Reynolds

Nathan's exploration of yoga commenced at the age of 18, driven by a curiosity to enhance his mental and physical wellbeing. Over the years as his yoga journey evolved, Nathan discovered an affinity for yin yoga and vinyasa. This led to completing a Yin training program in Auckland, guided by Jo Phee in 2017, which paved the way for Nathan to begin sharing his own teachings as a yin yoga instructor.

Nathan's approach is deeply rooted in his commitment to mental health and wellness. He offers a nurturing, unhurried, and contemplative class environment, providing students with a serene respite from the demands of daily life. Within these sessions, Nathan encourages students to explore the inner landscapes of their physical bodies, fostering a mindful connection that offers solace to their restless minds beyond the yoga mat.

Wellness Teacher

Abby Simons

Abby discovered a passion for Yoga and Pilates, leading her to pursue certifications in HIIT Pilates and Yoga Teacher Training.

Specialising in mindfully crafted HIIT Pilates sessions, Abby's classes encourage self-connection and personal growth through music, breath, light weights, and resistance bands.

Beyond the studio, Abby is an advocate for nature and enjoys outdoor activities like camping, hiking, and beach trips, embodying a holistic approach to wellness.

Sarah Lamb

Sarah's wellness journey began as a high performance athlete with a passion for health, studying Physical Education at Otago University. In her 20s, she discovered the transformative power of yoga and holistic healing, marking the start of her profound connection to inner work and self-healing practices. Facing life's most formidable challenges, from addiction to depression and the loss of both parents, Sarah found solace and strength through these practices.

Her journey took an extraordinary turn during a Women's retreat in Kauai in 2018 when she experienced her first Breathwork Journey. Intrigued, she embarked on a quest to explore the art and sicence of conscious breathing. Sarah delved into intensive training, becoming an Alchemy of Breath Facilitator (800HR) in 2020, just as the global pandemic amplified the need for stress management tools worldwide.

Sarah has since earned recognition as New Zealand's first Alchemy of Breath Practitioner and has honed her skills as a guide. Breathwork, an active meditation technique, combines physical and energetic benefits such as nervous system restoration and emotional trauma healing. With practices ranging from brief sessions (up to 45 minutes) that enhance overall wellbeing to longer Breathwork Journeys (1-2 hours) for profound breakthroughs, Sarah has discovered her calling in the breath and is dedicated to helping others do the same.

Wellness Teacher

Samantha Veitch

Samantha's love of yoga stems from a place of seeking movement that is both mindful, stimulating, expressive and allows space for growth both physically and energetically.

In her classes, she seamlessly weaves elements of yogic philosophy with the wisdom of her Māori heritage, creating a rich tapestry of ancient indigenous knowledge interwoven with the art of asana. Samantha views the yoga mat as a sacred space, a place where individuals embark on unique journeys to deepen their connection with their inner selves. Her goal is to guide and nurture this profound inner connection for anyone who joins her sessions.

In addition to her yoga practice, Samantha is trained in HIIT Pilates, an addition to her personal wellness routine that has contributed to increased strength and stability through a mindful approach. She believes that the synergy between Yoga and Pilates offers a comprehensive wellness experience, complementing and enriching each practice.

Samantha is excited to share this holistic approach with you, empowering you to embark on your own transformative wellness journey.

Wellness Teacher

Monica Cronin

Monica started practicing yoga at sixteen and completed her first 200hr Vinyasa and Yin yoga teacher training in 2018. Since discovering her true passion for teaching and sharing the art of yoga, Monica has delved into Embodied Flow training and assisted and completed another 200hr Vinyasa Yoga teacher training in 2020.

When she steps into the role of teacher, Monica taps into her flow state, establishing a profound connection with both herself and her students. Monica's teaching philosophy revolves around empowering her students with strong, fluid practices that offer flexibility and adaptability to suit individual needs. Her classes encourage students to explore their bodies and minds from a place of curiosity, authenticity, and liberation.

Wellness Teacher

Mibella Villafana

Mibella is a registered yoga and pilates teacher hailing from California. She has been teaching yoga since 2013 and comes from a background in psychology and gymnastics.

Teaching yoga is her way of merging the two worlds while inviting each one of her students to express themselves creatively through the mind and body. Mibella believes yoga, pilates, and meditation are sustainable ways to live in her highest state having been through two pregnancies and various neck and spinal injuries.

It is her honour and absolute pleasure to watch her students evolve as her own practice does too.

Wellness Teacher

Yuna Kim

Her journey in movement practices has spanned from dance, fitness and martial arts to a desire for more holistic wellness practices that led her to yoga in more recent years. In 2022, she delved deeper into her yoga journey by completing a 200-hour trauma-informed yoga teacher training, further enriching her understanding of the profound benefits of holistic wellness.
